First Aid on a Stab Wound 🚑🔪 If someone has been stabbed and the knife is still in place, 𝗗𝗢 𝗡𝗢𝗧 𝗥𝗘𝗠𝗢𝗩𝗘 𝗜𝗧! Pulling it out could cause severe bleeding and more damage. Instead, follow this method to stabilize the wound until help arrives: 1️⃣ Take a SAM splint and cut a piece about 25 cm (10 inches) long. 2️⃣ Cover the sharp edges with duct tape for safety. 3️⃣ Cut along the long edge every inch (to the middle), fold the flaps upward, and roll it into a circular shape. 4️⃣ Place this stabilizing ring over the knife and secure it with duct tape to keep it from moving. This prevents unnecessary movement and buys time for emergency care. 🚑 Always call emergency services immediately! 🦺 Clothing by Niemöller & Abel //Anzeige #ambulance #paramedic #emergency #firstaid #hospital #nurse

First Aid on an injured eardrum 👂🚑 You accidentally injured your eardrum with a Q-tip? You’re not alone — but here’s what you should do immediately before heading to the ENT doctor. Important first: Never use Q-tips to clean your ears! Cotton swabs often do more harm than good. They can push wax deeper, cause small injuries — and in worst cases, even rupture your eardrum. If that’s already happened, here are 4 first aid steps to follow until professional help is available: 1️⃣ Wear gloves: Always protect yourself, especially if there’s blood or fluid involved. 2️⃣ Apply sterile gauze: Gently place a sterile dressing over the injured ear to keep it clean. 3️⃣ Secure with a bandage: Wrap a bandage around the head to hold the gauze in place. 4️⃣ Cool from the outside: Use a homemade ice bag (e.g. ice cubes + water in a Ziploc bag) to gently cool the area. Do not put anything into the ear itself! Finally: Always seek medical attention from an ENT specialist. A torn eardrum is nothing to treat casually at home. Takeaway: Let your ears clean themselves and keep the Q-tips away from your ear canal! Clothing by Niemöller & Abel //Anzeige #ambulance #paramedic #emergency #firstaid #hospital #nurse

First Aid on an unconscious motorcyclist 🏍️🚨 What do you do when a motorcyclist is unconscious after a crash? Helmet off – but how? And why? Here’s your quick guide: 1️⃣ Remove Glasses – If the rider wears glasses, take them off carefully. 2️⃣ Open the Buckle – Unclip the helmet strap. If stuck, cut it with scissors. 3️⃣ Loosen the Helmet – Use both hands to gently pull the helmet apart at the sides and lift it just until the ears are free. 4️⃣ Stabilize the Neck – Support the head with one hand. 5️⃣ Remove the Helmet – With the other hand, hold the helmet from the front and carefully slide it off. Why this matters: You must check breathing – and that’s not possible with the helmet on. Plus, unconscious patients need to be placed in the recovery position, which can only be done safely when the helmet is removed. Know what to do. It could save a life. 🦺 Clothing by Niemöller & Abel //Anzeige #ambulance #paramedic #emergency #firstaid #hospital #nurse #rescue #motorcycle #Motorsport
