Every one has different love languages and no one is a mind reader. You have to communicate your needs. After you’ve communicated your needs, be patient, as it’s new behaviors people have to learn if what you’re wanting it’s not their primary love language. But it comes to a point. I looked over at Alexander and told him this is my first birthday in 4 years that hasn’t been spent arguing and it’s insane to think back on. People think being in a healthy relationship is easier, when in reality there are so many things you have to unlearn. Meal prep that has helped me lose 25 pounds. Nothing crazy. Just consistency, discipline, and showing up even when I don’t want to, on or off duty. Don’t ask how long it takes, you’re not in the right mindset. Find an approach that you can sustain for the rest of your life. If that’s 3x a week at the gym and getting 7k steps a day, then do that. If that’s eating healthy 80% of the time then do that. Through trial and error I’ve found what works for me and what burns me out quickly. Find what healthy lifestyle works for you.
