The FIM Motocross World Championship has noise restrictions with MX2 capped at 109db. Ahead of each round, the teams will have their bikes tested for sound & they will also take their spare #Akrapovic exhausts to be tested too. In MXGP, the riders go out for a sighting lap approximately 10 minutes before gate drop. After they get in from the siting lap, they have the remaining time to get ready to go to the gate, which is usually between 2-5minutes. Most riders will change their rear wheel in this time, however, on this occasion, we didn’t, because the Monster Energy Yamaha Factory MX2 riders did their sighting laps on their spare bikes, instead of their race bikes. A frantic 10 minutes to prepare the bike after two muddy practice laps that lead straight into a race. Before the riders head out, the bike has quite a bit of duct tape on it, so the mechanics can easily get most of the mud off.
