Replying to @Heidigirlxoxo On June 30th, the Dept of Defense will shut down a critical satellite data feed used in hurricane forecasting with no real explanation. The microwave satellite data helps us see inside tropical cyclones: tracking the center, spotting early intensification, and guiding models. Without it, forecasts will be less accurate, especially overnight and in the early stages of a storm. The Dept. of Defense just announced that it will cut off critical microwave satellite data on June 30th. This satellite data helps us see “under the hood” of storms, like an MRI for hurricanes🌀It’s pivotal for better forecasting rapid intensification. Just got out of NOAA’s Hurricane Season 2025 Press Conference. This season is looking active yet again. Rightfully so, a lot of questions were asked about the readiness of our federal agencies after staffing and budget cuts. I got to be a judge for the Fra’Mani Rise & Swine Breakfast Sandwich Competition. New Orleans showed up with 4 local bakeries selected out of 19 nationally. 🍳🔥 Here are 4 incredible bakeries in New Orleans: 🥐 Lagniappe Bakehouse – That Holy Trinity sandwich + incredible staff & cutest bakery vibe. I’ll be coming back for the gator claw pastry. 🍞 Levee Baking Co. – Fresh, hot, and layered with the dreamiest jam on their breakfast sammy. This got very high points on my scorecard. 🥓 Gracious Bakery – loved this spot. That’s how you do a summer breakfast sandwich. Their pepper jelly and pecans are savory, full of flavor. 🥪 Flour Moon @flourmoonbagels – I’ve never had a bad meal here. The Mazzatelli with Fra’Mani Salame Rosa, egg, pesto, provolone, arugula & honey. Sweet, spicy, and unforgettable.
