In our other cupboards we keep bigger items like our Lysol Wipes and Arm and Hammer Laundry Sheets. Use baskets for items that you want to hide but reach for regularly. Make use of vertical space by using tension rods to hold spray bottle and cleaning supplies like your Swiffer Power Mops and Swiffer Wet and Dry Sweeper. Use peg hooks on free wall space to hang keys, bags and cleaning products to keep the floor clutter free. Have a big basket as a drop off zone. Like very viral. Let’s try it on a doorway that’s almost 8 feet wide. I grabbed an extra long shower curtain rod. Tighten it. And wrapped two long garlands over it. Secured it with zip ties. Then I put these pretty golden stars, some twinkle lights and with the help of my husband, we hoisted and secured the shower curtain rod. I decided to add some snowflakes for extra pizzaz and It’s been up for a couple of days no with no signs of budging. Will you be trying this hack this year? #ad I’m putting together a burr basket for a friend inspired by @Yankee Candle ‘s new holiday scent- Big Apple Christmas. It’s a Fruity fragrance, with scents of fresh apples, festive spices, cinnamon and vanilla. It’s so cozy that I decided to include a pretty blanket, a super soft pillow, and some slippers. Trying out @Guto ‘s viral Christmas tree hack. I used a 12 gauge wire to create a floating magical swirl around the tree and wrapped twinkle lights around it. The effect is magical. 🔗: https://shopmy.us/collections/955710 Or find link in Bi0 (Viral Christmas Tree) I found that I needed to use additional wires to support the swirl structure. I did this by affixing the support wire to the trunk of the tree and hooking it back into the tree so the swirls could stay in place and support the weight of the lights. The crystal beads hanging down with the combination of the twinkling lights is really magical. I tried incorporating something new this year with the iridescent stars but I don’t know how to feel about it. Here’s how to tie the perfect double looped velvet ribbon. Consider adding bows to your decor this year. I love how this simple DIY can freshen up your holiday decor without breaking the bank. You can choose any colour of ribbon you like and you can make them as small or as big as you want! Hi I’m Wendy. I like Christmas and DIYs. Like really really like Christmas. Welcome to my series, the 24 days of Christmas diys, recipes and activities. Welcome to day one. Here’s how you tie the perfect ribbon. Take 3 feet of ribbon and hold it in the palm of your left hand. Flip your hand over and bring the ribbon over your thumb. Now make a figure 8 and weave under your pointer finger. Turn your ribbon so the velvet side is up. And then place your ribbon over your pointer finger. You’ll want to do this three times. So you’ll end up with two loops on your pointer finger and three loops on your thumb. Take the other end of your ribbon and tuck it under your figure eights twice. Now tuck you ribbon end into the loop you just made and pull tight to tie your ribbon together. Slip the ribbon off your hands and fluff the bows to your liking. Snip off the ends and carefully seal your velvet ribbon with a flame so it doesn’t fray. Now slip a floral wire at the back of the bow and affix it to your Christmas tree, in a wreath, in your clothes, in your hair or on a present! It does take a bit of practice at first but once you’ve done it a few times, you’ll be able to tie the perfect ribbon every time. I love letting my imagination run wild at Value Village because you’ll never know what you will find! We were missing a tree topper so I kept my eyes open and found a star ornament that just needed to be tweaked. I wrapped some twinkle lights and trimmed it down to size and there we have it! I love hosting crafting activities for my friends and family. Value Village is the perfect place to shop for materials. I grabbed some taper candles and painted my own designs with non toxic acrylic paint. It turned out so cute! Plus did you spot the little dish I got as my new paint palette? And I couldn’t pass up these bells I found, they sound so magical! I repurposed them into an ornament and hung them on the staircase. Follow our home transformations over the years. Did you stay till the end for that special ending? 😆 We’ve been here for three years and it feels like we haven’t stopped working on this house. At first we just wanted to renovate the kitchen which we did first thing when we moved in. Then a burst pipe led to an emergency gut bathroom reno through Christmas. Next came the basement because it was inhabitable. Which lead to our principal bathroom getting a makeover because why not we figured. And then we never stopped. We have ourselves a leak in the basement, the windows needs replacing, we wondered about foundational issues and had to figure out our rotting deck. But man, we are so lucky to be here. Once upon a time, we never thought we could even own a home. So anytime I look back, I am filled with gratitude.
