Replying to @my name is sebastian 🩰our venue was mostly uneven grass so I didn’t even think about heels as I didn’t want to wear any shoes that would be difficult to walk in / would sink in the grass! Especially as I was walking down the aisle on my own I didn’t want any risk of tripping. And I wanted to be completely comfortable! Once I found the perfect ballet flats from Repetto my wedding dress designers embroidered the date and our initials in my handwriting on each shoe 🥹
One last episode of the wedding diaries 🥹 the wedding is TOMORROW GUYS!!!!! I’m gonna be taking some time offline during /after the wedding to just be present and soak it all in before posting it on here, but don’t worry once I’m back there’ll be so much wedding content you’ll be sick of me. See you on the other side!!! And thankyou so much for all of the lovely comments and messages 🩷🩷🩷 xxxx

I worked with the incredible @Savannah Miller Bridal to create the bespoke dress of my dreams. This last year we created this dress from start to finish and the whole process has been so special, to wear the actual dress on the day was magical. The brief was simple (ish), I wanted a ‘big’ princessy dress, I wanted it to be lightweight, I wanted to feel like me, and I wanted to be able to RUN. When I was trying on dresses prior to designing this dress, all the ‘big’ princess dresses were so heavy and cumbersome, and I wanted to feel carefree and floaty on the day. I loveeee the look of 80s taffeta wedding dresses so wanted to incorporate that sort of look, and the team found the perfect silk dupioni fabric that was lighter than air so on the day it was SO lightweight in the South African heat, and created these beautiful shapes and texture (especially in the wind and our wedding was a very windy day!). Leaning in to the texture that the fabric creates (and for practical reasons), the dress bustles not only in the back but also in the front to create this lovely shape at the front and back of the dress (and also I meant I wasn’t tripping over my dress the whole day). I bustled it at the front just after ceremony leaving the back down, and then bustled it at the back just before our first dance. This also meant my dress evolved as the day went on which was so fun, I kept surprising Caspar with different variations of the dress. The team worked on creating the perfect drop waist strapless bodice, with beautiful draping and folding of the fabric, a gentle sweetheart neckline, and hidden corset that fit me better than anything ever has in my life! I felt comfortable, beautiful, and completely myself. The dress of my dreams to marry the man of my dreams. Oh and it has pockets!
I really wanted very natural fresh bridal makeup and she naileddd it. And for hair I wanted a simple half up half down to keep my hair out of my face (and because Caspar loves it away from my face) but obviously still had to have it down because I haven’t been growing out my hair all this time for nothing! I’m super picky when it comes to having my makeup done as I feel like it’s always too much, but this was perfect. I felt like ME
my something blue 🩵 I really wanted some kind of accessory to go with my dress for the reception - I was toying with the idea of a neck scarf but it didn’t feel quite right. Then one day in May I went to the John Singer Sargent exhibit at the Tate Britain, he was an incredible painter who specialised in portraits. The exhibit was actually called ‘Sargent and fashion’ because of his love for fashion and the way he painted different fabrics and texture. I noticed a lot of the women in his paintings wore taffeta shawls, and then I saw one painting where the lady was wearing a beautiful blue silk shawl. I’d never seen anything like it and knew immediately I had to wear it on my wedding day. I sent a message to my dress designers and they replicated it perfectly, it felt SO right
I asked the girls to choose any blue dress from one brand (@Jenny Yoo !) and it all came together so perfectly!!! (And pink for my little sisters) *gifted bridesmaids dresses!
