Something I learned in dental school that surprised me was that certain teas contain fluoride! Black tea, oolong, and matcha being on the higher end. 🍵 An 8 oz serving of matcha contains 0.1 to 1.2 mg of fluoride. (8 oz of fluoridated water contains 0.17mg) The concentration of fluoride varies depending on the tea’s quality and source. Higher grade matcha usually has a lower fluoride concentration.
