I am all for discussions, all for trust, all for understanding risks and benefits. The number of children with bleeds is difficult to fully characterize because many have subclinical bleeds that leave them with deficits that are not detected. These bleeds are PREVENTABLE. I have written articles and textbook chapters on Vitamin K deficient bleeding and I am always happy to discuss this at length with parents after delivery.
I’m so excited and grateful!! I learned SO much. Like ask me about congenital vs infantile hemangiomas. Or criteria for Kawasaki disease. Preferred antibiotic for skin and soft tissue infection. I can’t believe things that feel so easy and natural now were so foreign just 3 years ago!
