Replying to @marisa Behind all the water balloon videos and crazy ideas is some actual real life moments that comes through. The real meaning of “New Heart” is a lot different than everyone thinks. When we wrote this song, one of our best friends was going through a really hard time. His newborn daughter was born with a double left ventricle, which is a congenital heart defect that affects 5 in 100,000 newborns and requires them to have heart surgery in order to be able to function in every day life. It was tough seeing them go through this, especially being on the outside where it feels like there’s nothing you can do. Despite everything happening he stayed strong and finally, after many months, his daughter was able to successfully have the surgery. She’s officially recovered, happy and healthy. It’s insane to see impactful life experiences turned into music, and we never take that gift for granted. Every-time we hear New Heart, we think of his little girl and we rest easy knowing that shes forever an inspiration to us ❤️ I need a new heart, that doesn’t know who you are.
