In late August of 2023, I first met @Samer Khouzami as I arrived in LA for a photoshoot so graciously and most thoughtfully requested by him. Inexplicable, the ease with which occasionally strangers can sometimes bond and soon a lovely friendship between us developed. In January of 2024, I first noticed postings of a Master Class to be presented in June in Istanbul, Turkey, hosted by Samer. I would be dishonest if I did not share that upon each viewing of this marvelous coming attraction, I longed to know what it must be like to be selected as a model for an event as special as this. Within our many friendly texts exchanged, the subject, however, never arose. About a month prior to “Alter Ego” assuming to the stage, out of the blue Samer so casually texted and proceeded ever most nonchalantly to write, “Colleen, a quick question…. might you consider coming to Istanbul to be my muse for my final Master Class of the season?” NEVER, can I relate to you my elation! This extraordinary artist with three million followers who could have chosen from a thousand or more gorgeous models, wished ever so sincerely to focus the light on mature beauty on every stage, at every age!!!!! Yes, I fell in love with Samer Khouzami and his magnificent TEAM throughout our four days together and to this day and forever beyond his leadership and innate sense of generosity, kindness, and exquisite sense of goodness and exemplary character are a most joyous part of me.
