Remember when I put #peelandsticktiles in my shower… I had a lot of people telling me I was stupid BUT I did this before + researched a brand that claimed it could go in a shower. Well here we are 18 months later and it’s still here and doing just fine. Do I know yet if this is a 100% #renterfriendly #DIY #homeimprovement project… no because I haven’t removed them. It always makes me nervous recommending this as something that can be done safely for a renter without knowing what that removal looks like. Do I think this is a cheap and easy upgrade for homeowners!? Yes!! For this shower I bought 7 packs of the art3d tiles and it cost $280 #bathroom #homeideas

If we are being honest… this #hallwaymakeover has been a disaster for me from the beginning and I am still struggling with it. It’s very cave like right now but I am going to try and pull it off! In the next part I will be adding accent lighting. I am back to the drawing board for runners. This is going to sound crazy but I need darker runners these are so light it’s actually making this space look worse. I have paintings and a thin console table coming in to break up the length a bit. When my kitchen cabinet breaks I take this as an opportunity to play with #contactpaper to create a cute open shelving look. I actually think this idea of taking off the cabinet doors and just transforming the insides of cabinets could be a really easy #renterfriendly #DIY #kitchenmakeover that adds a little bit of character. For the homeowners like me who can’t remodel their kitchens this is very #budgetfriendly As always, both contact papers I used are added to my bio under the my finds section.

I don’t hide anything and this was a terrible #peelandstick removal day. Some will be quick to blame the product but this is a paint issue. I have certain areas of my house where the paint is “weak” not really adhered to the walls due to lack of paint prep. I was well aware of that. Before someone says use a #renterfriendly barrier (painters tape, vinyl film etc) that wouldn’t have helped much since those also can peel this paint off. I will show you how to fix this kind of mess tomorrow! #DIY #homeimprovement

I am not going to ever hide a bad peel and stick removal… the world of #renterfriendly #DIY and #peelandstick can honestly be sketchy. I only found that out after I started doing it and discovered the hard way that I was getting fluffed up information… no not everthing is amazing, fantastic, and just because it’s peel and stick doesn’t make it renter friendly. I have always found it incredibly important to show the bad stuff so when you see any of my good recommendations you know I am being honest. I was told over and over again to keep my content relevant to my “niche” and through that process I feel like I have lost what Being The Blooms was supposed to be. It was supposed to be a place where I shared my home ideas/thoughts and my life. My everyday real life hasn’t been shown for a long time and slowly over time my spunky + fun personality has kinda disappeared. I am absolutely shocked I kept this rug as long as I did… I didn’t like it since the day I put it down but I spent so much on it that I felt like I needed to keep it. I am extremely excited to see this thing gone! I have officially tried all of the big name washable rugs and can confidently say I will be a traditional rug girl from this day forward! Why!? 1. You can coat these rugs with stain guard yourself (my favorite brand is Protect Me) 2. You can vacuum them!!! I mean really vacuum them. 3. They are plush and will always look more expensive than a printed #arearugs #livingroomdecor #budgetfriendly #homedecor #homeideas

In the Bloom house we do the “hide the junk #organization method”… all my furniture pieces pretty much have hidden storage. I absolutely take pride in hiding our junk since I have never lived in a house that has good storage. I have always had to figure out ways to hide things strategically. I gave up on complex organization systems years ago with my kids… they know what basket or storage areas purpose is but it never fails they will just throw the stuff in there when picking up. I really don’t care anymore because it’s picked up and put in the right spot to find later. It works for us!! Remember… if anyone wants to give you crap about using the “hide the junk” method in your home tell them I said it was perfectly acceptable! #homedecor #organizationhacks #momhacks #homeideas #beingtheblooms

When I decided to finally create my own wallpaper collection the first company I went to was Wall Blush.
